Mains Chlorination Sampling

Mains Analysis & Sampling

Once the chlorination process has been completed it is necessary to perform mains sampling and analysis of the water contained in the pipe to ensure that it is consistent with the parent supply, it is wholesome and no contamination remains.

Each Water Authority have their own specification for analysis and sampling.  Some of the analysis can be performed on site and some requires analysis by a UKAS accredited laboratory.

Water Hygiene Solutions Ltd are familiar with each Water Authority’s requirements and we analyse on site for free chlorine, total chlorine, turbidity, pH, EC (electrical conductivity) and taste & odour.  All onsite analysis is performed using digital equipment (e.g. Palintest 7100 etc.) and is highly accurate.

We have accounts with multiple UKAS accredited laboratories in order to provide fast turnaround of bacteriological sample results and where required chemical analysis of the water.

Beware contracting companies that use test strips and provide limited analysis results as without accurate analysis post chlorination the Water Authorities are likely to refuse connection.

Below is a list of Water Authorities we work with to provide new mains chlorination.

Links (where available) to their specific new main sampling and analysis requirements.
