What are British Standards, and what is BS8558?
British Standards are technical specifications made to ensure businesses in the construction industry, for example, to ensure we cannot miss vital steps when it comes to providing service. These specifications are updated on an ad-hoc basis; thus, it is crucial to ensure teams are kept updated with the newest legislation.
BS8558 (BS standing for British Standards) was introduced in 2011 and updated again in 2015; it is a newer version of its predecessor BS6700. There are further specifications in terms of chlorination works and disinfection, ensuring only truly competent engineers can carry out disinfection works. Flushing and disinfection are discussed in further detail in the PD855468:2015 (PD meaning published document), which is another technical specification for businesses in our industry.
