Thanks for caring
We love you and think you are great. Not only did you use us for your work but you are happy with what we did. We would ask that you leave us a google review and tell everyone else what a wonderful experience you have had…
There is generally an inspection stage where water authorities will inspect factors such as depth of lay and correct fittings use.
Once this inspection stage has been passed the Water Authorities generally require a chlorination certificate, which requires a commissioning/chlorination procedure on the pipe work to include:
- Swabbing
- Pressure Testing
- Double Volume Flush
- Chlorination
- Analysis & Sampling
Water Hygiene Solutions can provide full commissioning service to provide cleanliness swabbing with photographic proof, documented flushing to remove any taste and odour issues and disinfection services. We can perform this service nationwide on all diameters and lengths of pipe work from a small service connection of 5m of 63mm or smaller up to several kilometres of 350mm or larger trunk main.
We can provide a pressure test of the pipeline to ensure that there are no leaks and that the pipe is structurally intact and this also protects the pipe installer as it provides certificated proof of integrity. Water Hygiene Solutions can provide fully data logged pressure testing and certification to the IGN standards.
Once the pressure test is complete, we perform a fully documented double volume flush of the pipe work. This removes any taste and odour issues and ensures that any soluble debris mobilised during the swabbing process is removed.
Chlorination of the pipe is only then performed. It is performed through the proportional addition of chlorine into the pipe to disinfect it. Once this has stood for an allotted time, it is flushed from the pipe.
We then provide on site analysis of the water for such things as chlorine, turbidity, pH, conductivity (utilising the very best digital equipment) and also provide on site taste and odour analysis by Water Authority accredited technicians. Once this has been completed and we are happy with the results, we sample the mains and provide a full UKAS accredited test suite analysis for microbiology and chemistry as per each individual Water Authority specification.
We then provide clients very detailed certification, which includes photographic evidence of each stage of the commissioning process to prove categorically to the Water Authorities that the pipe work has been successfully commissioned and connection can take place.
Below is a list of Water Authorities we work with to provide new mains chlorination.
Links (where available) to their specific new main chlorination requirements. We are more than happy to discuss these with you and can offer full advice on any new connection query.
